Above Nadie’s Heart is a piece commissioned by the Goethe Institut Boston for Sound Icon and Winsor Music, commemorating Beethoven’s 250th birthday. My work uses the same instrumentation as his Op. 20, but instead of the traditional B flat clarinet, I decided to venture with the fantastic mammoth of the contrabass clarinet.
